An Outdoorsy Affair
An Outdoorsy Affair
Lauren and Brad love the outdoors and off-the-beaten-path travel adventure, so when they got engaged on a trip through Banff and Jasper National Parks in the Canadian Rockies it only seemed natural to celebrate their nuptials outdoors as well.
The ceremony, held at Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, was completely outdoors. They wanted everything to look natural, unscripted and to have a “rustic vintage” theme, so they used a combination of round tables, vintage flower vases, long bare-wood farmhouse tables, eucalyptus garland and antiqued roses.
The wedding colors incorporated the natural feel with eucalyptus-like greens, thistle-like blues and blush pinks. The wedding party, including six bridesmaids, one bridesman, and seven groomsmen all donned the blush color that matched the antiqued roses. The groomsmen wore navy blue suits with blush ties and pocket squares.
Speaking of natural and unscripted, one of Lauren’s favorite moments of the day came when she arrived at the altar. Brad was so caught up in the magic of the moment and so happy to see her that he “forgot the rules” and went in for a kiss! Lauren, quickly turned her face to save the moment for their official first kiss, but created an adorable photo op for their photographers from Tiny Human Photography.
The day was sprinkled with very special and personal touches for both them and their families. Brad proposed with Lauren’s grandmother's ring and on their wedding day he was able to complete the set with her wedding band as well. They were married at Riverside Yacht Club, a place that Lauren had visited and dreamed about since she was a little girl. Her sister officiated the wedding and had everyone in both laughter and tears throughout the ceremony.
Congratulations, Brad and Lauren! We wish you the best and thank you for choosing GenTux to be a part of your special day!
